JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician supports reliable facility and equipment operations by performing skilled maintenance across electrical, plumbing, welding, fabrication, carpentry, and general repair work. This role conducts preventive maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs machinery, assists with equipment moves and installations, and performs building and structural repairs. The technician completes required safety inspections, operates forklifts and scissor lifts, and handles additional maintenance duties as assigned. A valid driver's license is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Perform one or all the following types of maintenance work:
Electrical, plumbing, welding, fabrication, and carpentry
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that production machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble equipment to working order
- Diagnose mechanical problems, determine how to correct them, and repair as appropriate
- Move and relocate current machinery and install new machinery
- Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
- Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, drywall, and other parts of building structures.
- Perform monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and emergency lights and address other safety concerns
- Operate a forklift and scissor lift
- Valid driver's license
- Other maintenance duties as assigned
Some work is performed on the production floor, which can be noisy and dusty, as well as hot during the summer. Some work will be performed outside, and climate will depend on season. Some work will be performed in a climate-controlled office. Proper personal protective equipment is provided by STC when necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work will be performed from a standing position. Work will require a large amount of walking. Work will include pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, and carrying large/awkward objects. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push carts loaded with up to 200 lbs.

- Basic knowledge in the use of a variety of tools ranging from common hand and power tools (hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
- Hands-on mechanical ability
- Good customer service skills to work effectively with co-workers and users of the equipment and the facility
- Valid driver's license required to drive STC vehicle locally
- Minimum of 1 year experience at Level 1. Or comparable experience with PLCs and CNCs
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications
- Proficient in the use of a variety of tools ranging from common hand and power tools (hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems
- Understands controls systems on equipment
- Excellent customer service skills to work effectively with co-workers and users of the equipment and the facility
- Ability to work independently
- Following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations
- Maintain the function and reliability of manufacturing systems and associated equipment by performing reactive machine maintenance. This includes but is not limited to mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairing of manual and automated equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; operating and testing systems and equipment to validate repairs
- Troubleshoot and perform required electrical maintenance on motors and controls, analog and digital devices, computers and PLC's, CNC controls, safety circuits, power supplies, robotics, mechanical and hydraulic systems, CNC machines and, and other equipment
- Provides continuous improvement ideas related to cost savings and safety
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, in the effort to increase the runtime of the entire facility
- Understand of ladder diagrams/logic and competent in the programming and troubleshooting of programmable controllers
- In-depth skills with fabrication, welding, machining
- Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems as well as drawings of such systems to facilitate repair efforts
- Ability to utilize precision instruments in either Metric or English measurement systems
- Effectively communicate through written communication to address maintenance repair needs
- Experience planning, scheduling, and ordering materials for all types of electrical or mechanical jobs
- Ability to document electrical changes and or new installations through written information and/or prints
- Assist with prioritizing work with leads and supervisors
- Proactively work within L2L (CMMS) to ensure accuracy

The compensation range for this position is $48,000.00 - $72,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.Benefits Package
