Established in 1963, Gulf Stream Construction Company is a turnkey site contractor based in Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA operating on projects across South Carolina and coastal Georgia. We build high-quality projects alongside the very best subcontractors while maintaining a cost-efficient, timely approach to our work.

We are seeking an entry level CAD Technician to support our civil sitework operations by converting engineered plans and CAD files into accurate 3D surfaces and linework models. • Develop accurate 3D surface models, linework, and digital deliverables using Trimble Business Center (TBC).
  • Interpret civil engineering plans, profiles, cross-sections, and existing CAD files to ensure complete and accurate model construction.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field personnel to identify discrepancies, resolve design conflicts, and verify constructability.
  • Process and review field topo data.
  • Maintain organized project files, version control, and documentation according to company standards and workflows.
  • Support continuous improvement of digital modeling practices and quality assurance procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Skills and Experience Preferred of the CAD Technician

  • Experience working with CAD or 3D modeling software.
  • Understanding of civil sitework and construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with project managers and field staff.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is highly preferred. Candidates who are currently pursuing or actively working toward a degree in one of these fields will also be considered.

  • Employer contribution to Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Life, disability, identity theft, and other insurance offerings
  • Free and confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Vacation, Paid time off (PTO) and company holidays
  • Retirement plan (e.g., 401(k)) with company match
  • Parental leave, referral bonuses, compressed work week options, and Fun Fridays
  • Opportunities for training, certification, and career advancement
  • Hands-on mentorship and professional development
  • Career growth opportunity within the construction industry
