Job description

Overview:

We are seeking motivated Cable Technicians to support the buildout of a large-scale hyperscale data center. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter the structured cabling and data center industry, as well as experienced technicians seeking to advance their careers in a fast-growing environment.

Technicians will work alongside a team responsible for installing and supporting critical network infrastructure, including copper and fiber optic cabling, server rack installation, cable pathways, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pull, route, and support copper and fiber optic cabling throughout the data center environment.
  • Install cable trays, J-hooks, D-rings, trapezes, bridal rings, and other cable support pathways.
  • Build and install server racks and related infrastructure.
  • Organize, dress, label, and prepare cabling for termination.
  • Terminate copper and fiber optic cables according to industry standards.
  • Install grounding systems for racks, equipment, and cabling.
  • Perform fire-stopping procedures, install sleeves, and support penetration work through walls and floors.
  • Read and follow blueprints, schematics, and installation drawings.
  • Conduct cable testing and validation using appropriate testing equipment.
  • Complete timesheets, work orders, material tracking, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Adhere to all customer, industry, and workplace safety standards.
Required Qualifications:Cable Technician I (Entry-Level):
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in construction, low-voltage cabling, telecommunications, electrical work, or a related field preferred.
  • Willingness to learn structured cabling standards and data center best practices.
  • Ability to work in a construction environment.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights when required.
Cable Technician II (Mid-Level):
  • Experience pulling and handling fiber optic cable.
  • Experience terminating fiber and copper cabling.
  • Experience testing cabling systems using Fluke or similar testing equipment.
  • Understanding of fiber color codes and cable management best practices.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
