Job description

Job purpose
As a Business Development Representative, you will facilitate the achievement of business goals through all sales activities including; prospecting new clients by networking, cold calling, researching, and building rapport. You will be responsible for selling and honoring the day-to-day commitments of the account. You will implement and tailor solutions to increase efficiency, add value, and maximize profitability throughout customers supply chains. You will utilize team resources and your manager to ensure the highest quality of operating procedures, key performance indicators, and other account metrics are met on a daily basis.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Prospecting new clients by networking, cold calling, and researching
  • Growing and maximizing potential opportunities within established accounts
  • Fostering close relationships and developing opportunities with existing customers to achieve growth
  • Manage an ever-growing pipeline of new opportunities and potential clients
  • Maintain overall positive client experience
  • Provide collaboration with the Carrier Sales team to streamline processes
  • Manage performance expectations through customer account metrics
  • Serve as the direct contact between your client, carrier, shipper, and receiver
  • Facilitate the successful on-time pick-up and delivery of the clients goods
  • Be readily available to address concerns and provide solutions to customers and carriers with any problems that may arise
  • Other duties as assigned

Working conditions
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard equipment available.
