Job description

Finance Budget Coordinator

POSITION DETAILS

The Finance Budget Coordinator reports to the Budget Manager. The Finance Budget Coordinator will be part of the college’s budget team, working closely with others at the college and Central O¿ce. This position provides an opportunity to conduct a variety of entry-level budget and related tasks. The job will include routine duties as well ad hoc projects.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assists in overseeing budget data and expenditures in budget system and prepares projections and financial reports

  • Maintains budget using Excel and the budget system

  • Reconciles data, prepare and processes journal entries

  • Assists the Budget Manager with analysis and preparing reports

  • Reconciles between local budget and expenditure reports and budget system

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to use Excel functions such as pivot tables and V-lookup

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide strategic recommendations to inform decision-making

  • Must be detail oriented, able to work on a team and comfortable adapting to changing situations

  • Experience in resource or budget planning with strong Excel; understanding of general finance and accounting principles in an office setting is preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication; ability to work cross functional and engage all levels of the organization

  • Support systems and functionality enhancements; seek process improvements

  • Demonstrating an eagerness to learn Power BI
