Job description

Position Overview
ND Global is seeking dedicated Maintenance Technicians (Entry Level) to support FDOT District 2 Bridge Maintenance Operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on outdoor work, teamwork, and maintaining Florida’s critical infrastructure. Technicians perform routine and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work under FDOT supervision, ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of state bridge structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of bridges and structures (cleaning, painting, patching, sealing, debris removal).
  • Assist with traffic control setup and flagging operations as directed by FDOT supervisors.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely, including drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and compactors.
  • Conduct site cleanup, vegetation removal, and debris management around bridge areas.
  • Support preventive inspection and minor structural upkeep under FDOT direction.
  • Adhere to all FDOT safety protocols, including wearing required PPE (ASTM F2413-05M/ANSI Z41).
  • Complete daily timesheets and follow all attendance and reporting procedures.
  • Participate in FDOT-approved safety and skill training programs such as Chainsaw Safety, Boating Safety, and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT).

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Valid Florida Class E Driver’s License.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, and performing outdoor manual labor.
  • Reliable transportation to the assigned FDOT Bridge Maintenance Office (Lake City / Jacksonville).
  • Must pass an FDLE Level II Background Check (no felonies or violent crimes within the last 10 years).
Preferred (not required):

  • Experience in bridge, road, construction, or maintenance work.
  • MOT (Maintenance of Traffic), Chainsaw Safety, or Boating Safety certifications.
  • Prior work on a state or municipal maintenance project.
