Job Description:
Job Summary
Purdue University and its Intercollegiate Athletics Department are looking for an entry-level groundskeeper at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The candidate must have the ability to build relationships and work among a diverse workforce at all levels. As a golf course groundskeeper, you will perform all general golf turf maintenance operations including mowing, bunker maintenance, hand-trimming, aeration, top-dressing and seeding of new and existing turf. You will become familiar with the operation of all golf turf maintenance equipment and perform general equipment repair.
What We're Looking For:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or maintenance/ grounds work.
  • The ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations is necessary
  • Excellent professionalism in dealing with golf patrons, administrators, coaches and student-athletes
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Motivated individual with the ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, and handle interruptions
  • Competencies in judgment, dependability, accountability, integrity, flexibility, and problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs
  • Some weekends, evenings, and holidays will be mandatory
