Job description

Who is Re:Build Fikst?

Re:Build Fikst, a Re:Build Manufacturing company, is a dynamic product development and engineering consulting firm located in Wilmington, MA. We work with pioneering clients to develop their technology, design their products, and bring those products to production. Re:Build Fikst's areas of expertise include biomedical instruments and consumables, microfluidics, specialty plastic design, optics, industrial automation, robotics, and design for manufacturing. We have extensive in-house laboratory and rapid prototyping capability including CNCs, 3D printers, waterjet and laser cutters, which help facilitate our ability to prototype and innovate fast. As part of Re:Build Manufacturing, we are able to collaborate with other member sites and leverage a greater network of capabilities including composites, industrial design, structural analysis, and embedded systems design.

Who is Re:Build Manufacturing?

Re:Build Manufacturing is rekindling America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful, sustainable jobs in areas that have been deindustrialized over the past 20-30 years.ย  Our strategy is to employ technology, systems, deep financial resources, and best management practices to compete and win as manufacturers in the global market. We are NOT private equity. We do not buy companies with the intention of selling them. Over the next decades, we want to make a difference in the US Manufacturing economy and the communities in which we operate. We believe in the power of people and the long-term competitive advantage that can be derived from helping our employees achieve their fullest potential.

Who we are Looking For

  • A player-coach who is passionate about teaching product development to less experienced engineers.
  • A product development engineer who enjoys the fast paced environment of consulting and is experienced with complex technical projects.
  • A creative problem solver who can connect scientific theory with engineering design to create novel products.
  • An exceptional listener and communicator able to interpret client needs and represent sound development methodology.
  • A life-long learner who can jump into an unfamiliar field, identify core issues and quickly contribute to solutions.
  • A collaborator that enjoys working in teams of scientists, electrical engineers, optical engineers, manufacturing partners, and industrial designers.

What you'll get to do

We're hiring a mechanical engineering team leader who is excited about product development and coaching the next generation of engineers. In this role you will support and mentor product development teams to advance new technologies and bring new products to market. You will be the backstop for project teams, keeping up with the day to day design work and providing support on the toughest technical problems your teams face. You will coach on softer skills like project management, writing project proposals and statements of work, and budget reviews. As a team leader you will support 3-15 engineers, depending on team sizes, project scope and complexity.

What You Bring to the Team

  • S. in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Broad technical background and a desire to learn more
  • Experience in consulting
  • Experience leading technical teams and mentorship/coaching
  • 3D CAD experience (Solidworks preferred)
  • Experience with a range of manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, sheet metal, casting, etc.)
  • Experience designing biomedical or automation products a plus

The base salary range for this position is $165,320.12 - $247,980.18 per year. This range represents the Company's good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting.ย  Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.ย

The BIG payoff

We are a company that is going to make a difference in the industries and the communities in which we choose to operate.
