Job Description

The Chaldean Community Foundation (CCF) improves the stability, health, and wellness of those we serve through advocacy, acculturation, community development and cultural preservation.

The Chaldean Community Foundation is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist to join its Sterling Heights location. The ideal candidate is fluent in English, Arabic and Chaldean/Aramaic.

Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Program Manager, the behavioral health therapist provides outpatient therapeutic services to individuals with identified mental health, substance abuse, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities. Outpatient therapy includes psychoeducational activities/interventions designed to assist the client in building or improving problem-solving skills and functionality. Services are provided with client-centered and family-centered approaches and are delivered through time-limited, goal-specific interventions.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions to the identified client to enhance and foster the client’s optimal functioning and interactions in the home and community.
• To continually assess client needs, service availability and appropriateness.
• To work cooperatively with treatment team members and the family in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the Person-Centered Treatment Plan.
• To provide the appropriate documentation for service delivery including treatment goals, progress notes and billing and submit said documentation as specified by third-party payers and CCF’s standards.
• Participates in the Quality Improvement Program and other staff meetings and initiatives.
• Adheres to CCF’s policies and procedures.
• Supports the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of CCF.
• Implements clinical practices in accordance with principles of evidence-based practices and co-occurring integrated care.
• Works closely with and provides behavioral health support to CCF’s staff, as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner to outside organizations and county and state bodies.

Education and Experience

• A Master’s degree is required.
• Full license in good standing (LMSW) strongly preferred.
• Limited License (LLMSW) will be considered.
• License LLPC, LPC and LLP will be considered.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasional standing and walking around the office.
• Regular bending and reaching may be required.
• Ability to lift or carry items up to 15 pounds at times.
• Ability to operate office equipment.
