Job description

Job Description

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – Adult Services

North Austin, TX | Full-Time

Are you a BCBA who wants to make a meaningful impact beyond early intervention and pediatric clinic settings?

This is an opportunity to work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a person-centered environment focused on independence, dignity, communication, vocational growth, and real-life success skills.

While many ABA positions focus primarily on children, adult services offer a different kind of clinical experience. Instead of table programs and early childhood goals, you’ll help adults build practical life skills that directly improve daily living, employment readiness, social relationships, community integration, and long-term independence.

Why Many BCBAs Prefer Working with Adults

Working with adults often provides:

  • More naturalistic teaching environments
  • Greater collaboration and autonomy
  • Less repetitive programming
  • Stronger emphasis on quality of life outcomes
  • Opportunities to teach meaningful real-world skills
  • More mature client interactions and relationship building
  • A mission-driven environment focused on dignity and independence

Many clinicians who transition from pediatric ABA to adult services report that they enjoy the broader scope of behavior analysis and the ability to focus on functional, lifelong outcomes.

About the Role

As a BCBA, you will provide clinical oversight and behavioral support for adults in community-based and center-based settings. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, caregivers, and direct support professionals to create individualized programming that improves each client’s independence and quality of life.

This role is ideal for a BCBA who values:

  • Ethical and compassionate ABA
  • Person-centered care
  • Functional life skills programming
  • Positive behavior supports
  • Clinical autonomy
  • Collaborative leadership

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized behavior support plans
  • Supervise and mentor staff implementing behavior programs
  • Provide crisis prevention and behavior reduction strategies
  • Develop programming focused on:
    • Independent living skills
    • Community integration
    • Communication
    • Vocational readiness
    • Social and leisure skills
    • Self-advocacy
  • Analyze behavioral data and adjust treatment plans
  • Collaborate with families, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ensure services align with ethical and best-practice ABA standards

Qualifications

  • Active BCBA certification
  • Texas LBA or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Experience with adults or developmental disabilities preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Passion for person-centered ABA services
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Small caseloads focused on quality care
  • Supportive leadership team
  • Professional autonomy
  • CEU and professional development support
  • Opportunity to help grow innovative adult ABA services
  • Meaningful clinical work that changes lives

A Different Kind of ABA Career

Most ABA professionals spend their careers working with children. Adult services allow you to apply behavior analysis in a way that directly impacts employment, independence, relationships, and everyday living. For many BCBAs, it becomes the most rewarding work of their career.

If you’re looking for a BCBA role where your work creates lasting impact for adults and their futures, we’d love to connect with you. Email resume to: eric at dallashealthcareconsultants .com
