Cooperstown All Star Village is a state-of-the-art sports complex located in Oneonta, NY. Cooperstown All Star Village specializes in youth baseball tournaments bringing teammates, coaches, and families together through our Big-League Experiences. We are committed to maintaining the values and experience gained from playing the game, while making sure there's a whole lot of fun along the way.

Position Summary:

As a successful member of the Grounds Crew, you will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations and upkeep of the complex at Cooperstown All Star Village.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate grounds and field maintenance equipment including tractors, UTVs, golf carts, forklifts, mowers, and other landscaping machinery.
Perform routine groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, watering, debris removal, and general landscaping.
Inspect fields, walkways, spectator areas, and surrounding grounds to ensure safety and proper presentation.
Assist with event setup and breakdown including placement of equipment, fencing, and other field-related materials.
Maintain equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors.
Provide friendly and professional assistance to guests and staff when needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience or strong interest in groundskeeping, landscaping, or sports field maintenance.
Ability to safely operate or learn to operate groundskeeping equipment and machinery.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality playing surfaces and grounds.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong time-management and problem-solving skills.
Friendly, professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Preferred:
Previous experience maintaining athletic fields or sports complexes.
Experience with turf care, field preparation, or landscaping.
Experience operating commercial landscaping or groundskeeping equipment

Working Conditions / Special Physical Requirements:

  • You may be required to lift up to 70 pounds.
