Broad Description of Duties:

The Bartender is responsible for providing superior service, interacting with guests, and providing the best possible guest experience while ensuring consistent drink quality. As a Bartender, you will prepare orders in a fast-paced environment while following recipes and guidelines established by the Food and Beverage department. You will provide superior guest service while maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment as a member of the Marcus Theatres Food and Beverage team.

This position reports to a member of the theatre management team or General Manager (reporting may vary by location).

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Associates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation;
  • Prepare beverages for our guests;
  • Attend to guests and provide an excellent guest experience by interacting with guests, being attentive, taking orders and serving food and drinks;
  • Follow company food safety policies, as well as those of local regulatory agencies;
  • Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items;
  • Assess guests' needs and preferences to make recommendations;
  • Verify that guests who purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age;
  • Set up and maintain appropriate stock levels for the bar;
  • Clean and sanitize all areas in the bar and lounge area for guests and associates;
  • Monitor and communicate social distancing guidelines

Job Requirements:

  • Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Willing and motivated to learn new skills and tasks to meet the changing demands of the industry;
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts to include days and nights, weekends and holidays;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
  • A minimum of six(6) months of work experience;
  • Ability to learn and use the Aloha Point Of Service System;
  • Accuracy in transactions and cash-handling skills;
  • Ability to obtain relevant training certificate and/or licensure;
  • Ability to follow all cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices as mandated by the company and local regulatory agencies.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, and/or walk often. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Work is performed in a theatre/restaurant/bar environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high with an occasional loud environment. Wearing a face mask is required during scheduled working hours.
