The Federal Savings Bank is a dynamic, rapidly growing, and veteran-owned and operated bank. As we continue to grow in the ever-evolving mortgage industry, we are seeking driven, enthusiastic, and well-organized individuals to grow with us as a Consumer Loan Banker. in our Chicago IL office. 


With on-the-job training from our highly experienced and very successful Consumer Loan team, we will provide the tools and resources you need to thrive and succeed as a Consumer Loan Banker! 


This is a full-time, entry-level position reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Consumer Lending. Only applicants who reside in the Chicago area at the time of application and can agree to a hybrid office schedule will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn and apply sales techniques through hands-on sales coaching from SVP of Consumer Lending
  • Support the Consumer Lending Division with lead generation from existing bank customers
  • Originate Home Equity loans based on leads provided
  • Ability to leverage the Smart loan, an unsecured personal loan to assist borrowers with the financing of life costs that allows them to not touch the existing equity in their homes 
  • Help qualify borrowers by being able to utilize our unsecured program to consolidate bills, finance home improvement projects, major purchases, and medical expenses
  • Outbound calling to potential clients and referrals from Mortgage Bankers
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, referrals, and peers
  • Operate loan origination and automated underwriting software
  • Become an expert at using our CRM and lead management
  • Work alongside like-minded peers in a competitive and lively office environment
  • Enter consumer loan applications into our Loan Origination Software
  • Participate in weekly National Sales Meetings

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree, or commensurate sales or military experience
  • 1 + years of experience in sales or retail, hospitality, and food & beverage industries a plus
  • Naturally, high sales acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in phone sales or customer service a plus!  
  • A positive attitude and desire to "win" are required traits to succeed in this role
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and require minimal supervision after training
  • Self-Motivated with a natural capacity for leadership roles.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
