Summary:

The Member Experience Representative I is a developmental role to gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to become a Member Experience Representative II. The Member Experience Representative I is an entry level consultative position within Belco’s Branch Network. This role is responsible for in-branch member service interactions, providing educational information on Belco products and services aligning solutions to member needs. Performs a wide variety of transactional and account and loan servicing duties to serve Belco’s membership, while upholding Quality, Service, and Brand Standards. Represents the credit union to its members in a courteous, professional and confident manner.


Essential Functions:

  1. Enthusiastically supports the referrals and sales and service culture at Belco in every interaction with members and the public.
  2. Provide efficient, prompt and accurate service in handling and processing member financial and service requests.
  3. Positively contributes to the member experience by escorting members through appropriate delivery channels, such as home banking mobile deposit, online applications, and Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs).
  4. Must be able to effectively handle cash, including large amounts, and maintain accurate and precise transactional records.
  5. Under the guidance of the Assistant Branch Manager, they may assist members with preparing and compiling new member applications and information to open all account types.
  6. Utilizes a consultative sales approach to seize all opportunities to educate members and potential members about Belco products and services, cross-selling to match individual members’ needs with appropriate products and services to enhance the member relationship with the credit union.
  7. Under the guidance of the Assistant Branch Manager, may assist members through various steps of the loan process for a member.
  8. Responsible for maintaining current and accurate records of sales tracking results, via Synapsys and Lobby Tracker systems.
  9. Maintain current knowledge and adherence of Federal and State compliance laws and regulations, along with Belco’s policies, procedures, safety standards. Must maintain member and employee confidentiality.
  10. Embody Belco’s mission, vision, Belco’s Behavioral Expectations, and actively support the Brand “Belco Life”, within each interaction. Constantly looking for ways to improve processes that will improve the member’s and/or team experience and communicate those ideas to Branch Management
  11. Consistently acts as part of a cohesive team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
  12. Participate in community and professional events.
  13. Represents the credit union to its members and the public in a courteous, professional, and confident manner at all times.
  14. All other duties as requested by the Assistant Branch Manager and/or Area Branch Manager/Branch Manager.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment, requiring 100% in branch work. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a role that requires standing and moving around the branch for majority of the day. This would require the ability to lift to 25 lbs., open cabinets, and bending or standing.

Travel:

This position would require periodic travel to other branches in our seven-county footprint.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. Up to 6 months of experience in customer-facing or transactional role. This may include experience in cash handling, retail, sales, customer service, or other positions demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.


Preferred Education and Experience:

Higher education, and more than 6 months of experience working in member service, lending, or call center department within a financial institution. Broad knowledge of credit union functions and in-depth knowledge of member compliance, banking regulations, financial technology, lending processes, and member service.
