Job Title: Systems Engineer Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: None * * * The Opportunity: CACI is seeking Computer/Systems Engineers to work onsite in Dahlgren, Virginia. As the Systems Engineer, you will be supporting the AEGIS Weapon System. Responsibilities: * Design new and update existing computing systems for Surface Navy, including computer, network, storage, and display systems.
* Create design documentation for new computing systems, including:
* Design documents, including wiring diagrams port allocations and bills of material.
* Ship integration information, including I/O tables for Technical Data packages.
* Production information, including bill of material part numbers and quantities.
* Provide alternatives for items in deployed systems that are no longer procurable.
* Review and assess alternatives defined by Life Cycle Engineering Agent, Combat System Engineering Agent and production team.
* Apply technology roadmaps to tactical computing equipment to aid customer in defining path forward.
* More About the Role:
* Create and update Visio drawings including cabinet elevations, wiring diagrams, power wiring diagrams.
* Provide feedback on fiber optic cable plants.
* Perform trade studies and analysis of alternatives for equipment upgrades of tactical computing systems.
* Provide summaries of roadmaps for Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, networking, and storage.
* Compare and contrast various motherboard designs.
* Assess pros and cons of the products of various server vendors.
* Assess suitability of various motherboard designs to various Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) architectures. Qualifications: Required: * A 4-year STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is required for this program.May consider experience in lieu of degree.
* Proficiency with Visio or equivalent drawing tools
* Proficiency with Excel and Visual Basic
* Working knowledge of server and switch hardware.
* Working knowledge of thin clients/zero clients
* Working knowledge of fiber optic communication types and compatibilities
* Will work onsite in Dahlgren, VA
* Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance. (US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance from the DoD.) Active Secret Security Clearance is a plus. Desired: * Current Secret Clearance
* Working knowledge of Aegis Combat/Weapon Systems.
* Working knowledge of Intel, AMD, and network technology roadmaps.
* Understanding of Ethernet protocols.
* Understanding of various protocols (RS232/422), USB, DP, H.264, PCIe, etc.
