Our Design Studio team, in our Chicago office, is seeking a BIM Coordinator. This role will support the engineering of systems for a variety of projects while working closely with clients, client reps, architects, and MEP engineers in creating designs for all kinds of spaces.

Position Overview
A BIM Coordinator within dbHMS, applies knowledge of modeling and drafting software for the development of MEPFPT construction drawings, administers company modeling standards, and develops modeling resources.
Essential Job Functions
  • Technical
    • Troubleshoot issues in Revit.
    • Utilize Autodesk Revit and BIM360 proficiently.
    • Assist in the development of in-house BIM standards.
  • Project Design
    • Manage project setup and organization.
    • Assist in drawing setup with internal disciplines (MEPFPT).
      • Including Floorplans, Schematic and Riser Diagrams, Details and Schedules.
    • Attend external meetings for BIM coordination across trades.
    • Communicate with clients and team members to ensure that drawings are consistent with the project requirements and internal BIM Standards.
    • Help project teams Clash Detect projects using Navisworks Manage and Enscape.
    • Manage assigned BIM projects, and coordinate deliverables with internal disciplines.
  • Quality Control
    • Perform quality checks after drawing setup to ensure BIM Standards are followed.
    • Contribute to BIM workflow improvements based on feedback from internal disciplines and clients.
    • Maintain and update Revit families and libraries.
  • Execution of Tasks
    • Prioritize work effectively.
    • Delegate work to BIM Intern(s) as appropriate.
    • Engage Senior BIM Coordinator when required.
  • Professional Development
    • Assist in training entry level staff in Revit.
    • Continue to receive mentorship and guidance from Senior BIM Coordinator.
    • Seeks out new information from external sources.

Requirements
  • Minimum Education: A.S or B.S degree in an architectural, engineering, or related program.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Revit.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage work on several projects and meet tight deadlines.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of BIM integration with energy modeling and operations and maintenance databases.
  • Knowledge of engineering related software or protocols.
  • Ability to operate other drafting software including AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and Enscape.
  • Specialty certifications or accreditations in the design of systems such as LEED AP, etc.
