Overview

Trellis Services is hiring instructors to work with children and adolescents (ages 9 to 21) diagnosed with autism in our Baltimore County After School Program. This part-time position is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference in the life of a child! Flexible hours, great pay ($19/hr) and participation in our 401K plan! Great entry level positon and resume builder for someone looking to start their career in Special Education!

The After School Program is located in Towson 21286. The Program is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 3:00pm-7:00pm and Wednesday 2:00pm-7:00pm. Flexible schedules are available.ย  Instructors MUST have a valid drivers license, auto insurance and willing to transport clients in their personal vehicle.ย 

Responsibilities

As a Trellis autism instructor, you will work under the supervision of one of our experienced Case Managers and gain experience using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.ย 

  • Provide one-on-one support with community independence, daily living and recreation/leisure
  • Flexible schedules; afternoon, evening and weekend shifts
  • Additional opportunities available throughout Maryland including Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard and Talbot counties
  • Ability to advance into other roles at Trellis
  • Great foundation for a career in special education and related fields

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Meet the minimum age requirement of 18ย 
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • The ability to pass a background check.
  • Minimum 100 hours of working/volunteer/personal experience with individuals with developmental delays
  • Reliable transportation/Valid Driver's License/Current Auto Insurance

Physical requirements vary and are based on specific client assignments. You may be asked to engage in any of the following: push, pull, lift up to 35 pounds, and move quickly, according to client needs.ย It is necessary to be able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run.
