AV Installation Apprentice / Entry-Level TechnicianWant to learn a skilled trade working with technology?

AV Specialists is looking for someone who wants to work hard, learn, and become good at a trade in the audio/video and smart-home industry.
You don't need years of AV experience. This position is designed for someone starting out who wants to learn from experienced technicians while working on real projects.
What matters most to us is your attitude.
If you show up on time, work hard, pay attention, take pride in what you do, and genuinely want to learn, we can teach you the technical side of the business.
What You'll Be Doing
This is a hands-on job.
You'll work alongside our technicians and learn how to:
  • Pull and install low-voltage wiring
  • Install TVs, speakers, networking equipment and smart-home technology
  • Use tools and proper installation techniques
  • Build and organize equipment racks
  • Work in new construction and finished luxury homes
  • Protect floors, walls, furniture and the client's property while we work
  • Keep jobsites and company vehicles clean and organized
  • Learn how AV, networking and smart-home systems are connected and installed
  • Troubleshoot problems and learn how to solve them
Some days you'll be installing a beautiful TV, speakers or a high-end audio system. Other days you'll be pulling cable, carrying equipment, climbing ladders or working in an attic.
You will get dirty sometimes.

That's part of the job and part of learning the trade.
What We're Looking For
We're looking more for the right person than the perfect résumé.
You should:
  • Be dependable and show up when you're supposed to
  • Have a good work ethic
  • Enjoy working with your hands
  • Be willing to learn and take direction
  • Pay attention to details
  • Take pride in doing things correctly
  • Be comfortable with ladders, attics and construction environments
  • Treat customers, coworkers and their property with respect
  • Understand that working in someone's home requires professionalism
  • Be able to put your phone away and stay engaged with the job
Experience with construction, electrical, low-voltage wiring, automotive work, computers, networking, electronics or tools is helpful, but not required.
Learn a Trade
There's a lot to learn in our industry, and we don't expect you to know it all when you walk through the door.
You'll start with the fundamentals and learn by working alongside people who have been doing this for years. As your knowledge and abilities grow, so can your responsibilities and opportunities within the company.
For the right person, this can become much more than just another job.
Who We Are
AV Specialists has been designing, installing and supporting audio/video and smart-home systems since 1995.
We work with everything from televisions and music systems to home theaters, lighting control, motorized shades, networking, surveillance and complete home automation.
Many of our projects are in some of the area's finest homes, so our standards are high. Our customers trust us inside their homes, and we take that responsibility seriously.
The way we work is pretty simple:
Show up. Do what you say you're going to do. Take care of the customer. Take pride in your work. Help your teammates. Keep learning.

Nobody walks in knowing everything.
We're looking for someone who's ready to learn.
