Description

National Network Services(NNS) is seeking askilledLV Structured Cabling Technicianto support commercial cabling projects andassistin the development of junior technicians. You willbe responsible forthe successful completion of assigned tasks and projects whilemaintainingcompany standards for safety, quality, and productivity. This role requires experience with structured cabling installations, pathway construction, cable termination, testing, troubleshooting, and crew leadership.

The ideal candidate will be capable of mentoring entry-level technicians, leading small project teams, and communicating effectively with project managers, customers, and fellow technicians.

General Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening ifrequired

WhatYou'llDo

Structured Cabling Installation

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
  • Install and support structured cabling systems in commercial environments
  • Layout and install pathways, ladder rack systems, cable trays, backboards, sleeves, and supporting infrastructure
  • Identifyfire-rated walls and implement proper firestopping methods
  • Ensure installations meet company quality standards and industry best practices

Cable Termination & Testing

  • Set up andoperatecopper cable testing equipment
  • Troubleshoot cabling issues using industry-standard test equipment
  • Terminate and dress copper cabling on:
    • 110 Blocks
    • Patch Panels
    • BIX Blocks
    • Krone/ADC Blocks
  • Perform cable certification and testing to verify installation quality

Leadership & Training

  • Lead small crews on assigned tasks and projects
  • Ensure safety, productivity, and qualityobjectivesare achieved
  • Mentor and train Level I Technicians to support their career development
  • Assign daily work activities andprovidefield guidance as needed
  • Follow direction from Lead Technicians and Project Managers while supporting overall project success

Pathway Construction

Demonstrate working knowledge of:

  • J-Hooks
  • Ladder Rack Systems
  • Cable Tray and Flex Tray Systems
  • Anchor Selection
  • Ceiling and Beam Types
  • Sleeve Installation
  • Firestop Systems

Required

  • Demonstrated competency in all Level I Technician responsibilities
  • Experience installing structured cabling systems in commercial environments
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
  • Experience with cable termination, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Strong communicationand organizational skills
  • Ability to lead small crews and coordinate daily work activities
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Reliable vehicle capable of transporting materials and ladders up to 8 feet in length between job sites
  • Basic hand toolsrequired

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to work on ladders and active construction sites
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work overhead for extended periods
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications related to structured cabling or low-voltage systems
  • Experience working in education, healthcare, industrial, or large commercial construction environments
  • Familiarity with BICSI installation standards and best practices
