As a Public Health Registered Nurse at the North Central Health District's HOPE Center in Macon, Georgia, you will join a dedicated team of public health professionals committed to protecting the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. Job Responsibilities As a Public Health Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to individuals living with HIV/AIDS while delivering professional nursing services in accordance with established protocols, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, administering immunizations, providing health education, coordinating care, and supporting patients in achieving their best possible health outcomes. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Identify and address the health needs of high-risk populations by developing and implementing targeted interventions based on population needs and available resources.

Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives. Provide treatment, administer medications and vaccines, and deliver preventive and maintenance care to patients and families in accordance with care plans and/or physician treatment plans. Screen and refer clients to appropriate community service providers.

Participate in drills and exercises related to pandemic influenza, mass sheltering, and mass dispensing. Participate in the planning, organization, and evaluation of program areas to ensure program goals and objectives are met. Provide clinical services to target populations.

Apply population health principles to promote health, prevent disease, and improve health outcomes. Provide healthcare, first aid, immunizations, and assistance with convalescence and rehabilitation. Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' healthcare needs.

Conduct community needs assessments. Develop comprehensive plans of care for individuals, families, and populations. Modify client treatment plans based on client responses and changing health conditions.

Provide health education, instructions, and classes to individuals and families to promote and maintain health. Coordinate program services with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other service partners to support effective implementation. Develop and sustain community partnerships.

Perform additional duties as assigned. Responsibilities and essential functions may change to meet organizational needs. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college oruniversity and one (1) year of nursing experience andcompletion of a PHN course within one year of hire andcurrent Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license andCPR certification; or one (1) year of experience at thelower-level PH Registered Nurse 1 (HCP190) or positionequivalent.
