Job description

Construction Materials Group's Highway Division is seeking a full-time Estimator / Assistant Project Manager to join our Salem, VA, team. We have an immediate need for a hard working, career-oriented individual that can maintain automated databases of project opportunities, read and analyze construction plans, comprehensively estimate materials, prepare bid documents for pricing, and manage awarded projects to profitable completion.
Hours: Monday-Friday.
Desired knowledge, skills and abilities include:
> Knowledge of building construction, materials and methods helpful
> Experience estimating construction materials desired
> Well-organized with strong attention to detail
> Ability to read and understand construction documents, including architectural and structural plans
> Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with team members, customers and vendors
> Strong office technology skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
> Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
> Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved is desired
