ABOUT THIS ROLE
A Focused, High-Impact Assignment for an Experienced Educator.
Movement South Fulton is seeking a certified teacher for a short-term, 2-week contract position to administer the Georgia Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills (GKIDS) Readiness Check to incoming Kindergarten scholars at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
The GKIDS Readiness Check is a Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) mandated beginning-of-year (BOY) screener that assesses entry-level readiness skills of incoming Kindergarteners across three domains: Foundations of School Success, English Language Arts, and Mathematics. This assessment is conducted one-on-one with each scholar and is observational and performance-based in nature.
Your sole focus will be administering the screener accurately, consistently, and efficiently - no lesson planning, grading, or classroom management required.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Administer the GKIDS Readiness Check one-on-one to incoming Kindergarten scholars during the designated beginning-of-year testing window
- Assess scholars across the three GKIDS domains: Foundations of School Success (approaches to learning, social-emotional, and motor skills), English Language Arts (early literacy and language skills), and Mathematics (numeracy, shapes, and counting)
- Record and document scholar responses accurately using the GaDOE-approved GKIDS platform and protocols
- Follow all standardized administration procedures as defined by the Georgia Department of Education
- Coordinate with the campus testing coordinator to maintain efficient scheduling and flow of scholars
- Handle all scholar assessment data with confidentiality in compliance with FERPA
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You will be a great fit for this role if you are:
- A certified educator with experience working with young children, particularly Kindergarten age
- Comfortable working one-on-one with young scholars in a warm and patient manner
- Detail-oriented and accurate in recording and documenting assessment results
- Familiar with early childhood development and Kindergarten-level skills
- Able to follow standardized testing protocols with consistency and care
- A clear communicator who works well within a school team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Georgia educator certification required
- Prior experience working with Kindergarten or early childhood-age students strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the GKIDS Readiness Check or similar early childhood assessments preferred - training will be provided
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
- Successful completion of GBI and FBI fingerprint background clearance required
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
- Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour
- Employment Type: Part-Time, Short-Term Contract (approximately 2 weeks)
- Duration: Beginning of Year (BOY) testing window - 2025-2026 school year
- Schedule: School day hours, Monday through Friday during the testing window
