Salary: $33/hr DOE

MAKERS architecture and urban design, LLPis seeking an organized, independent, and collaborative individual for our facilities planning team serving military and other federal clients. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and employee-focused culture, as well as learn from experienced architects and planners. If you want to work with a team of listeners, hard workers, innovators, collaborators, and problem-solvers, MAKERS is for you.


The position will be part of a team that integrates architecture, planning, and other disciplines to help clients including the US Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard achieve their infrastructure needs. We offer planners the opportunity to be involved in foundational, early-stage work that helps clients successfully execute facility projects.

The position is based in our Seattle office with a flexible hybrid schedule that allows staff to work from home two days per week. Occasional overnight travel is required.


Responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have outstanding organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Staff in this position will:

  • Prepare for and execute single and multi-day site visits to perform inventories of facilities on military installations.
  • Complete checklists based on in-person observations.
  • Update floorplans in AutoCAD to document existing uses and other characteristics.
  • Perform data entry using Microsoft Access.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders in person and through follow-up communications via phone and email.


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
  • One or more years of experience in a professional setting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
  • Management skills for large data sets requiring attention to detail.
  • Must work well in a team of six to eight people, including remote collaboration with staff in San Diego.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a project-based consulting environment.
  • Proven organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and timely execution.
  • Valid drivers license.

Application.This is an hourly, nonexempt position, with a base pay starting at $33/hour, DOE and meeting the qualifications of this job posting. Benefits and perks include medical/dental/vision insurance, guaranteed 3% employer 401(k) contribution after six months regardless of employee contribution, profit sharing, 10 days paid time off per year (15 days after two years employment), eight paid holidays, one floating holiday, paid sick leave, merit-based bonuses, ORCA transit pass, and continuing education funding.
