Position summary: The Architecture Designer is an entrylevel architectural professional who supports project teams under the direction of a Registered Architect. The role contributes to projects of small to moderate size and complexity and may assist on portions of larger projects. Responsibilities include applying standard architectural principles, methods, and procedures while building knowledge of conventional architectural practice.

This position is designed for an emerging professional who develops technical skills, design judgment, and independence while actively contributing to project teams.

Compensation for this position is $33.70 - $38.50/hr, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Utilize architectural design, modeling, and graphic software, including Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud, and similar applications to develop drawings, models, and visualizations, in support of project deliverables under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Assist project teams in applying Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms to develop coordinated design and documentation deliverables appropriate to project scope and complexity.
  • Prepare architectural drawings, details, and construction documentation in accordance with established drafting, detailing, and documentation standards, with increasing accuracy and independence over time for small projects or assigned portions of larger projects.
  • Assist in preparing architectural specifications and coordinating them with construction documents.
  • Support project teams in researching and applying applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability requirements to ensure compliance and alignment with project goals.
  • Conduct basic code research and assist in summarizing requirements that inform design decisions and documentation.
  • Assist in the development of client presentation materials, participate in internal and external meetings as appropriate, and support meeting documentation and followup tasks.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities and demonstrate a commitment to building technical expertise, leadership skills, and professional growth within the firm.
  • Travel to JMT locations and project sites is required as needed.
