What You Would Do in This Role

The Junior Document Control Analyst reports to the Project Lead of Document Control and Document Control Manager, also works closely with the project managers and engineers. Key duties include: 

  • Receive, quality check, log, track and transmit engineering-generated and vendor documentation in an Electronic Data Management System (EDMS)
  • Maintain and control files for all project documentation on the network drive
  • Handle, process and distribute incoming communications from in-house disciplines and vendors to ensure the deadlines are met. 
  • Set-up, track and distribute multi-discipline squad checks for vendor and engineering documentation
  • Maintain document records in Client data bases as per client-specific and project-specific requirements
  • When required, handle hard copy of documentation: scanning, printing, and destruction (lifting of heavy boxes is required sometimes)
  • Complete document control project work to Clients’ and Company’s deadlines and processes
  • Perform other duties as requested
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, supplemented by related post-secondary education or experience.  
  • Entry level position, 0-2 years previous data entry or document control experience 
  • Must possess superior attention to detail, strong work ethic, and be a self-starter, who is proactive. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. 
  • Ability to set priorities and multi-task. 
  • Solid computer skills, including experience with MS Office and Excel, Adobe Acrobat DC or Bluebeam are required. Previous work with Aconex is considered an advantage.  
  • Previous work in engineering companies is a plus. 
  • Beginner to intermediate working knowledge of engineering terminology and various types of engineering documents is a plus.
