Job description

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an Entry-Level to Experienced candidate to become an integral part of our clients engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's facility.

Supplier Quality Engineer

A strategic supplier quality engineer will utilize quality tools, process knowledge, and quality system knowledge to validate supplier capability prior to supplied parts entering production. They will also establish trends with suppliers and use these trends to help with sourcing decisions. Trends will also be used to improve critical suppliers' quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead print reviews and part to print activities
  • Conduct design/process/assembly reviews, supplier FMEA reviews and PPAP approvals for outsourced parts.
  • Engage in non-conformance corrective actions for supplier parts
  • Pursue production line quality resolutions
  • Complete Supplier & Line Quality containment of non-conforming parts
  • Execute supplier quality readiness visits and key suppliers
  • Support fit-ups and complete root cause analysis for fit-up issues on supplier parts.

Requirements

  • Technical, Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering or related field required
  • Experience with all elements of PPAP
  • Must be a self-starter, have good communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team
  • Must have a valid Drivers License
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.

Desired Attributes

  • Understanding of quality systems/tools, including APQP process
  • Strengths in facilitation, documentation and leadership
  • Experience with GD&T and modeling software
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to lead without authority
  • Ability to convey topics at both a technical and high level effectively
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Welding, fabrication, sheet metal, hydraulic, electrical and/or paint experience is a plus
