Job Description

This long-term opportunity seeks Security Technicians at both entry and advanced levels to install and support physical security systems in a data center environment. You will focus on wiring and installing access control points, intrusion and burglar alarm systems, and CCTV cameras, while working with leading security platforms such as Lenel and DMP. Entry-level team members will receive hands-on training in wiring and terminations from the door frame upward, while experienced technicians will take on more complex installation and integration tasks with minimal oversight. Typical workdays start between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. and end around 2:30–3:30 p.m., and the project is expected to run for the next 2–3 years, offering stable, ongoing work.

Responsibilities

  • Install and wire access control points, ensuring proper connections and terminations from the door frame and up.
  • Set up, configure, and wire intrusion and burglar alarm systems in accordance with project specifications.
  • Install and position CCTV cameras, including running and terminating cabling to support video surveillance.
  • Pull, route, and neatly manage wire and cabling throughout the data center environment.
  • Perform terminations for security devices and panels, following industry standards and best practices.
  • Work with and support security systems such as Lenel and DMP, and other integrated security platforms as required.
  • Follow detailed installation plans and drawings to complete security integration tasks accurately and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot installation issues and ensure all systems function correctly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety procedures while working in the data center.
  • Demonstrate reliability by working the assigned early morning shifts and meeting project deadlines over the 2–3 year project duration.
  • Learn and apply new techniques and technologies in security installation, especially for entry-level technicians.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues regarding progress, issues, and required materials or tools.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with security installation, including access control, intrusion systems, and CCTV, is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with access control installation and integration.
  • Knowledge of intrusion alarms and intrusion systems and their wiring requirements.
  • Ability to perform terminations for security devices and systems.
  • Proficiency in pulling and routing wire, particularly for entry-level candidates where this experience is preferred.
  • Background in construction or trade school for entry-level candidates, demonstrating familiarity with tools and job sites.
  • Strong aptitude to learn new trade skills and security technologies.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to receive training and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts starting around 6:00–7:00 a.m. and ending around 2:30–3:30 p.m.
  • Capacity to work safely and effectively in a data center environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous security installation experience is a plus for all candidates.
  • Security integration experience, including working with ACP and related systems, is beneficial.
  • Has or has held certifications in Lenel and DMP, indicating high-level technical capability.
  • Approximately 1 year of security experience is valued for mid-level roles.
  • 2–3 years of security installation experience, with the ability to work with minimal training (about 1 week), is preferred for more advanced roles.
  • Multiple years of security installation experience, with the ability to work independently and with little to no training, is highly desirable.
  • Comfort working with various tools and equipment commonly used in construction and security installations.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation, diagrams, and installation instructions.
Why Work Here?

Join a long-term project that offers stability, consistent hours, and the opportunity to grow your skills in a modern data center environment. You will work with industry-leading security technologies and receive hands-on training if you are starting your career, while experienced technicians can leverage their expertise with minimal supervision. The culture emphasizes reliability, learning, and professional development, providing a supportive setting where motivated individuals can advance their technical capabilities over a 2–3 year period.

The role involves early morning shifts, typically starting between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. and ending around 2:30–3:30 p.m., providing predictable daytime hours.
