Diesel Technician / Diesel Mechanic
Experience Level:Diesel Technician | Heavy Truck Mechanic | Fleet Maintenance Technician

Groendyke Transport is hiring a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of truck-tractors and cargo tank trailers. In this role, you will diagnose mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and complete repairs that keep our equipment safe, reliable, and operating efficiently. This hands-on position is ideal for someone with strong heavy-truck experience who takes pride in quality work and values safety in a professional shop environment.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, powertrain components, and trailer systems

  • Perform preventive maintenance on truck-tractors and cargo tank semi-trailers

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, ABS, and electronic engine components

  • Repair or replace components using hand tools and power tools

  • Perform brake service, tire service, and FHWA inspections

  • Conduct HM-183 inspections (if qualified)

  • Complete welding repairs as needed

  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records

  • Provide guidance to less experienced technicians when needed

  • Follow all shop safety procedures, including cargo tank entry requirements

  • Work assigned shifts, including days, nights, or weekends as needed

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license

  • Five years of heavy truck or diesel maintenance experience preferred

  • Must possess your own hand tools

  • Ability to use computer systems for maintenance documentation

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical
