We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support project-based financial operations within a manufacturing environment in Fort Collins, Colorado. This Long-term Contract position will focus on maintaining accurate project accounting, coordinating cost activity across multiple operating units, and ensuring financial records align with reporting standards. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, hands-on SAP ECC knowledge, and a solid background in reconciliations, reclasses, and month-end accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the setup and ongoing maintenance of project structures spanning multiple plants, legal entities, and cost centers to support accurate financial tracking.
• Manage project-related cost distribution activities, including allocations, settlements, and assessments, to ensure expenses are recorded in the appropriate accounts.
• Prepare and process journal entry adjustments such as labor and material reclassifications while maintaining compliance with accounting controls.
• Act as the primary functional resource for project cost accounting within SAP PS/CO, supporting day-to-day financial activity and issue resolution.
• Perform month-end close tasks tied to project accounting, helping deliver timely and accurate financial results.
• Reconcile general ledger balances and project-related accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve variances efficiently.
• Partner with accounting and controllership teams to support reporting requirements and strengthen cost transparency across operations.• Proven experience in senior-level accounting roles within manufacturing or other complex operational environments.
• Strong working knowledge of month-end close, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation.
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in SAP ECC, including project systems and controlling functions related to cost management.
• Understanding of work breakdown structures (WBS), cost centers, and project-based financial reporting.
• Experience handling accounting reclassifications, including labor and material cost transfers.
• Ability to manage detailed financial data accurately while supporting multiple entities or locations.
