Job description

*This position is a full-time remote position located anywhere in the U.S*
What You'll Do:
This role oversees and coordinates the work of employees performing one or more drafting and design tasks; suggests ways to enhance production processes, equipment performance, and product quality; suggests changes to processes to enhance working conditions, process flow, and equipment use to increase departmental efficiency; estimates staff-hour requirements for projects to be completed on time; studies production schedules and establishes or modifies work procedures to meet schedules, utilizing knowledge of CAD machines and software capacities.
As a Design Coordinator, a typical day may include the following:
  • Conferring with Project Managers to coordinate departmental activities with corporate needs
  • Initiating or suggesting plans to motivate staff to achieve work goals
  • Recommending or initiating personnel actions, for example, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures
  • Interviewing potential new hires and training new workers
  • Maintaining time and production records
  • Estimating revenue and cost of current and future projects

Required Qualifications:
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in the pipeline industry
  • 0 to 5 years experience managing designers/drafters, dealing with HR issues, budgets, utilization
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Experience with alignment sheets, HDD, and working with survey data
  • Strong communication skills
