Job description

You have founded a successful start, raised venture capital, have solid contacts in your field that will result in immediate early traction.

This isn't a traditional job, but a founder-focused role for someone with previous startup experience, strong product intuition, and a deep desire to build an impactful company. You'll be integrated into one of the most dynamic AI ecosystems on the planet, working directly with Mila's professors and students to transform scientific breakthroughs into real-world startups. • Conducting product discovery processes: interacting with users and decision-makers, validating problems, defining MVPs, testing market interest
  • To train and lead multidisciplinary teams combining research, engineering, and entrepreneurship

  • Working with venture management to enrich Mila's entrepreneurial methods and programs
  • Mobilizing Mila's national network of mentors, investors and partners
  • Prepare yourself to become a co-founder of one of the startups you helped create — with full support during the spin-out

???? You will have 6-18 months to launch your AI startup. The position is based in Montreal, with a minimum of 3 days/week in-person work. It provides you with the time, resources, and access necessary to build a transformative company.

???? Desired profile
  • Essential startup experience — as a founder or executive in the seed or growth phase (Seed or Series A)
  • You learn extremely quickly, are comfortable in complex environments, and know how to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong product awareness: you lead customer discovery, validate needs, and work closely with the technical teams
  • Training or interest in STEM or deep tech — you understand or quickly learn the language of researchers
  • Experience in fundraising or investor relations is a plus
  • Want to immerse yourself in a world-class AI research environment?
  • You are analytical, action-oriented, committed, and resourceful
  • Your goal: to build or co-build a mission-driven company from Montreal
  • You know how to build relationships and mobilize teams around a goal
???? Why this role is unique
  • Collaborating with some of the world's most influential AI researchers
  • Freedom to explore bold ideas with access to cutting-edge talent, resources, and research
  • Being part of an ecosystem that has already launched dozens of high-impact startups
  • Gain visibility through Mila's reputation and network
  • Building not just a product, but a transformative enterprise
