Custom Shop Mechanics/Fabricators

Looking for organized, responsible, assertive, motivated individuals to fill the role of Shop Mechanics/ Custom Fabricators in a fast-paced theatrical/custom fabrication shop.  Applicants must function well as part of a team and have very effective organizational and communications skills. Professionals only, no hobbyists, please.  Work week is 40 hours minimum. Qualifications:

-        Excellent organizational skills, inventory management, and personnel management.

-        Solid carpentry, welding, and/or mechanical skills

-        Experience using construction and industrial equipment.

-        Able to read and understand blueprints/construction drawings.

-        Problem identification, solving, and trouble shooting.

-        Able to maintain a safe work environment at all times.

-        Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

-        Responsible for cleaning and maintaining shop equipment.

-        Heavy lifting is required at times. (80-100lbs)

-        Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, fastening systems, electronic controls, and other small parts.

-        Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.

-        Applicants must be reliable and available to work on some Saturdays and some evenings.

Skills/certifications not required, but preferred: (training available)

-        OSHA 10/30

-        Finish carpentry

-        Working knowledge of electronics, electrical components, LED lighting, general wiring

-        Understanding of mechanical systems, i.e. motors, chain hoists

-        Welding and metal fabrication

-        Entertainment rigging

-        High reach/telehandler/forklift operation

-        CNC/water jet operation
