Job description

General Manager

Location : Phoenix Theatres Empire 8 (Jackson TN)

Summary of Position

Phoenix Theatres Entertainment is looking for a highly motivated individual to operate our theatre located in Jackson, TN. This location has 8 screens with all electric reclining seats, beer and wine and is a very busy location. Although all aspects of operating this theatre are important, impeccable customer service will be our priority.

The General Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the location, including, but not limited to, food service, guest services, the safety of our guests, staff, property management and overseeing the quality and consistency of our presentation. The General Manager is also responsible for achieving operational goals as set forth by the Phoenix Corporate office.

Qualifications

  1. A minimum of one year’s experience in a high-volume customer service environment (movie theatre, restaurant, hospitality, etc...)
  2. Theatre management experience a plus.
  3. Knowledge of digital projection and sound equipment a plus.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. Basic computer skills.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  7. Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
  8. Strong hospitality and guest service skills.
  9. Ability to lead, train and produce a strong support team.
  10. Detailed oriented individual.


Job Functions

  1. Provide direct supervision and guidance for all theatre employees.
  2. Make sure all employees satisfy our customer service standards.
  3. Schedule management team for opening and closing shifts, as well as additional events (manager meetings, staff meetings, training, etc.)
  4. Ensure proper staffing levels.
  5. Perform all opening/closing, operational and administrative duties.
  6. Manage daily operations including cleanliness, R&M, organization, budgeting, and ordering.
  7. Hiring of all team members.
  8. Monitor/guide staff performance and hold them accountable for their performance.
  9. Manage payroll, supplies, and food and beverage costs, to ensure they are in line with budget.
  10. Ensure safety and cleanliness throughout all areas of the facility.
  11. Service recovery performed when necessary.

Job Type/Work Hours

This is a salaried position that requires a minimum of 50 hours a week. You must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
