Position Summary: The Applications Specialist II Color Changing is responsible for the design support, documentation, and application engineering of color-changing architectural lighting systems. This role works closely with sales teams, lighting designers, architects, electrical contractors, and project managers to develop project layouts, prepare technical submittals, and produce accurate as-built documentation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop fixture layouts and system documentation for architectural color-changing lighting projects
  • Create detailed AutoCAD drawings including:
    • Lighting Fixture and layouts
    • Scaled control enclosure drawings
    • DMX and network topology diagrams
    • Wiring schematics
    • Equipment schedules
    • Mounting details
  • Review architectural, landscape, electrical, and lighting drawings to ensure proper integration of lighting systems.
  • Assist with fixture selection and project-specific product application.
  • Evaluate project requirements and provide recommendations for color-changing lighting solutions.
  • Coordinate project layouts with lighting designers, architects, contractors, and internal project teams .
  • Shop drawings
  • Product cut sheets
  • Control and network diagrams
  • Mounting and installation details
  • Ensure documentation complies with project specifications and customer requirements.
  • Manage drawing revisions and document control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Respond to submittal comments and coordinate updates as required
  • Maintain and update AutoCAD drawings throughout project execution.
  • Incorporate field changes, installation modifications, and commissioning adjustments into project records.
  • Prepare final as-built drawing packages reflecting actual installed conditions.
  • Ensure all project closeout documentation is complete and accurately reflects the finished installation
  • Other Duties as assigned by manager
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Lighting Design, Architecture, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in architectural lighting, lighting controls, entertainment lighting, or related industries.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required 2+ years.
  • Experience preparing submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical construction drawings.
  • Experience with color-changing LED lighting systems.
  • Understanding of:
    • RGB, RGBW, RGBA, and Tunable White technologies
    • DMX512
    • RDM
    • sACN
    • Art-Net
    • Ethernet-based lighting networks
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
