Job Summary:
The Security Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience in physical security, asset protection, emergency preparedness, and large-scale event operations within a dynamic hospitality and entertainment environment at Hall of Fame Village. This internship provides meaningful exposure to daily security operations while allowing participants to contribute to special projects that support campus safety, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.
Working alongside security leadership and officers, the Security Intern will develop practical skills in incident management, surveillance operations, guest screening, data analysis, and security technology while delivering exceptional customer service to guests, visitors, vendors, and team members.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional guest service to visitors, guests, clients, vendors, and employees.
  • Assist with responding to and documenting incidents, complaints, security breaches, and loss prevention concerns through investigation and reporting.
  • Conduct campus patrols of buildings, venues, and designated guard routes to identify and communicate security, safety, or operational concerns.
  • Monitor activity through the Security Operations Center, including surveillance of more than 400 cameras across campus.
  • Assist with Campus Security Mapping Project including developing and maintaining comprehensive digital security maps identifying critical campus safety assets, including camera locations, AED locations, fire extinguisher locations, access control doors, severe weather shelters, etc.
  • Assist with Incident Data Analysis Project including analyzing incident reports and security activity data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support guest screening procedures through metal detection and access control operations.
  • Ensure security equipment, workspaces, and operational resources are organized and prepared to support daily activities.
  • Promote teamwork through effective communication with security staff, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Assist with security planning and operational support for campus events and activities.
  • All other duties and special projects as assigned.

PART-TIME/HOURLY/NON-EXEMPT
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Desired Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Public Safety, or a related field.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Interest in physical security, security technology, emergency preparedness, investigations, and event operations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary), as business needs require.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of performance and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, adaptable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments while managing independent assignments.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements for Position:
  • The ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
  • The ability to work in various Ohio weather conditions, inside and outside.
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain, steps, or in construction zones.
  • The ability to see and respond to hazardous situations.
  • Must be able to hear, see, and speak.
  • Must be available to work in Canton, Ohio.
