Job Summary:
As Director and Actuary on our ALM & Capital Analytics team, you will lead the organization's JFSA Economic Capital program, transforming economic capital from a regulatory requirement into a strategic business management capability. Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee the production, aggregation, validation, interpretation, and reporting of economic capital results under the JFSA (Japanese regulator) framework for both our parent company, Meiji Yasuda, and senior management for Pillar 1 (prescribed economic capital results) and Pillar 2 (results that we believe are more reflective of our business)

- Build economic capital and JFSA acumen across the organization by educating stakeholders and their teams, facilitating collaborative discussions, and fostering a shared understanding of JFSA results, related metrics, and underlying measurements. Promote consistent use of economic capital information across the enterprise to support informed decision-making and a common understanding of risk, performance, and growth trade-offs.
- Communicate economic capital results, insights, and emerging risks through an ongoing two-way dialogue with senior management, auditors, regulators, Meiji Yasuda, and other stakeholders, enabling effective interpretation of results, strengthening organizational understanding of JFSA results and complementary metrics, and supporting informed, risk-aware business decisions.
- Research industry best practices and emerging trends in economic capital, regulatory capital frameworks, risk-adjusted performance measurement, capital allocation, and value-based management, identifying opportunities to enhance the organization's ability to balance performance, growth, and risk through the effective use of JFSA results and related measures.
- Lead the identification and implementation of economic capital use cases, partnering with stakeholders across the business to integrate economic capital into business management, strategic planning, pricing, performance measurement, capital allocation, and resource allocation decisions. Champion a holistic framework of JFSA results and complementary metrics that provide a comprehensive view of risk and value creation, support enterprise-wide consistency, and drive sustainable strategic growth.
