Position Summary...Join Walmart's enterprise leadership team as the Group Director, Enterprise Fraud Strategy & Operations, where you'll shape the future of fraud prevention across one of the world's largest omnichannel ecosystems. This highly visible executive role drives enterprise fraud strategy, technology innovation, and operational excellence to protect customers, reduce losses, strengthen trust, and enable business growth through scalable, data-driven fraud prevention capabilities.
About the Enterprise Fraud Strategy & Operations Team
The Enterprise Fraud Strategy & Operations team is responsible for protecting Walmart customers and the business by proactively identifying, preventing, and responding to fraud across the entire customer lifecycle. Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Information Security, Compliance, Payments, Operations, and global business leaders, the team develops innovative, AI-powered fraud prevention capabilities that balance customer trust, business growth, and operational efficiency while advancing a globally aligned fraud prevention strategy. What you'll do...Enterprise Strategy & Capability Leadership
  • Define and execute Walmart’s enterprise fraud prevention strategy, operating model, governance framework, and long-term roadmap across the omnichannel customer lifecycle.
  • Establish fraud risk appetite, performance objectives, and investment priorities while driving globally aligned fraud capabilities across Walmart U.S., Marketplace, Sam’s Club, and International markets.
Fraud Prevention & Operational Excellence
  • Build and optimize end-to-end fraud prevention capabilities spanning customer acquisition, authentication, payments, fulfillment, returns, and customer support.
  • Lead enterprise fraud response, operational performance, and continuous improvement efforts through risk assessment, fraud detection, monitoring, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional partnership.
Technology, Analytics & Innovation
  • Shape Walmart’s fraud technology strategy by partnering with Product, Engineering, and Data Science leaders to advance AI, machine learning, automation, behavioral analytics, and predictive risk decisioning capabilities.
  • Influence enterprise technology investments and leverage advanced analytics to proactively identify emerging threats and strengthen fraud prevention effectiveness.
Global Enterprise Partnership
  • Partner with business and fraud leaders across U.S. and International markets to embed fraud prevention capabilities into products, customer experiences, payment methods, and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive knowledge sharing, governance alignment, and adoption of leading practices while balancing regional customer behaviors, regulatory requirements, and market-specific risks.
External Leadership & Industry Engagement
  • Represent Walmart with payment networks, financial institutions, regulators, law enforcement agencies, industry associations, and strategic partners to strengthen fraud intelligence sharing and influence industry-leading practices.
  • Monitor emerging fraud trends, regulatory developments, and new technologies, translating external insights into enterprise strategies that enhance customer trust and business resilience.
Organizational Leadership
  • Build and lead a high-performing team focused on innovation, operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous advancement of Walmart’s fraud prevention capabilities.
  • Lead organizational transformation, talent development, and accountability programs that deliver measurable business outcomes and prepare future leaders.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in fraud prevention, fraud strategy, customer risk, trust and safety, payments risk, or enterprise risk management.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise fraud prevention or customer risk strategies within a large-scale retailer, eCommerce organization, marketplace, payments company, financial institution, or technology organization.
  • Experience leading cross-functional organizations spanning Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Information Security, Compliance, Payments, Legal, and Customer Experience.
  • Strong technical understanding of fraud technologies, AI, Machine Learning, behavioral analytics, authentication, transaction monitoring, and risk decisioning platforms.
  • Experience partnering across multiple business segments and global organizations to develop scalable enterprise capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success influencing executive stakeholders, leading organizational change, and driving enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Experience representing an organization with external industry groups, payment networks, regulators, financial institutions, or strategic partners is preferred.
  • Proven ability to deliver measurable business outcomes in a complex, high-growth, customer-focused environment while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
