Job description

Job Title: Data Quality Product Owner (Enterprise Data Governance)

Location: Charlotte, NC

Experience: 7-10+ Years

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Quality Product Owner / Data Quality Expert to lead the enterprise Data Quality capability as part of our Data Governance organization. This role will work closely with the Enterprise Data Governance Leader, Tooling team, Data Strategy team, Data Stewards, Business Owners, and Technology teams to establish, operationalize, and continuously improve enterprise-wide data quality practices.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Data Quality frameworks, rule definition, stewardship enablement, and enterprise data quality adoption, along with hands-on experience configuring data quality rules and driving product enhancements. Experience with Alation Data Quality is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

โ€ข           Lead the enterprise Data Quality product roadmap and execution in partnership with Data Governance and Data Strategy leadership.

โ€ข           Define enterprise Data Quality standards, policies, scorecards, best practices, KPIs, and monitoring processes.

โ€ข           Drive enterprise adoption of Data Quality capabilities through training, coaching, communication, and change management initiatives.

โ€ข           Develop and deliver presentations for Data Stewards, Data Owners, and business users on Data Quality best practices and governance processes.

โ€ข           Partner with Technology, Engineering, and Platform teams to prioritize, configure, test, and implement Data Quality requirements into technical capabilities, features, enhancements, and integrations within the product backlog.

โ€ข           Monitor Data Quality metrics, trends, and issue resolution, providing actionable insights to leadership.

โ€ข           Facilitate governance forums to review Data Quality performance, exceptions, and continuous improvement opportunities.

โ€ข           Collaborate with enterprise architecture and data platform teams to embed Data Quality controls into data pipelines and operational processes.

โ€ข           Establish repeatable processes for Data Quality issue management, root cause analysis, and remediation tracking.

โ€ข           Stay current with industry best practices and recommend improvements to enterprise Data Quality capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, or Data Strategy.
  • Strong communications skillset and confidence interacting with stakeholders as a Data Quality Subject Matter Expert
  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing enterprise Data Quality frameworks.
  • Implementation of key Data Quality dimensions including Accuracy, Completeness, Consistency, Timeliness, Validity, and Uniqueness
  • Hands-on experience creating and configuring Data Quality rules and validations.
  • Experience working with Data Governance operating models, Data Stewards, Data Owners, and Governance Councils.
  • Proven experience driving enterprise adoption, stakeholder engagement, training, and organizational change management.
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, business glossary, data lineage, and Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
  • Experience working in Agile environments as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Alation Data Quality and the broader Alation platform.
  • Experience with enterprise Data Governance tools such as Collibra, Ataccama, Informatica IDMC, Microsoft Purview
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with SQL and data profiling techniques.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as Financial Services, Banking, Healthcare, or Insurance.
