We are seeking a knowledgeable and client-focused Tax Consultant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about helping clients navigate complex tax regulations while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local individual and business tax returns.
  • Provide tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Analyze clients' financial records, income, deductions, and credits to identify tax-saving opportunities.
  • Advise clients on tax implications related to investments, businesses, real estate, and major financial decisions.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding tax matters and provide clear explanations of tax regulations.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local tax law changes and communicate their impact to clients.
  • Assist clients with IRS notices, audits, and tax resolution matters when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with accountants, bookkeepers, and other financial professionals to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by providing exceptional service.
  • Ensure all tax filings are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance tax knowledge and consulting skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field preferred.
  • CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or other tax certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, tax consulting, or public accounting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience using professional tax preparation software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
