The West Bloomfield School District is currently accepting applications for the following position:

SUMMER SCHOOL ELA TEACHER

MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER 

LOCATION:  WEST BLOOMFIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Michigan Certification with appropriate endorsement for secondary English or K-8 all subjects or K-8 ELA

COURSES TAUGHT:

  • Courses taught will be determined by student need.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Teach the assigned grade/content.
  • Monitor students' academic growth through formative and summative assessments.
  • Differentiate content based on individual student assessment data
  • Plan and facilitate small group instruction and learning stations
  • Encourage innovative and creative thinking in a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers regarding instructional practices.
  • Uphold all summer school policies.
  • Arrival and dismissal supervision.
  • EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT ON ENROLLMENT

JOB DURATION:  June 26 - August 5, 2026

  • June 17 -8:00-2:00 pm Professional development
  • July 6 - July 30 - Summer school days, 4 days a week (M-TH)
  • July 31 Records day: 4 hours
  • July 22, 12:30-2:30 pm for Bridge 6th Planning
  • Teacher Report Times: 7:30-11:30 pm
  • August 4-5 - Incoming 6th grade  Bridge Program (3 hours/ day, 8:00-11:00 am)
  • Student Summer School hours: 8:00-11:00 am

SALARY: Curriculum Rate ($35.00/hour)
