About the Role

We are seeking a Proofer Operator to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As a Proofer Operator, you will be accountable for monitoring dough quality, ensuring process control of the proofer and oven systems, and supporting consistent product flow through the production line.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 1st Shift
  • Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Weekend Availability: Required

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $18

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Monitor dough units on proofer plates to ensure they meet quality and process specifications
  • Support oven operations by assisting with process control of the proof box and oven
  • Verify dough condition—including batch time and texture—to ensure proper unit development
  • Maintain organized, clean, and sanitary proofer and oven work areas in accordance with GMPs
  • Monitor process line parameters, adjusting and documenting as needed to maintain product standards
  • Track batch container flow to prevent overcapacity and ensure smooth production throughput
  • Communicate issues and observations to production leadership to support safe, efficient operations

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to identify problems and participate in basic problem solving
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a production environment

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Experience in bakery or food manufacturing
  • Familiarity with proofing, dough handling, or oven operations
  • Experience participating in shift meetings or team communications
