We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team at the Healing Mind and Soul Center. This full-time, remote position offers a unique opportunity to provide Intensive In-community therapeutic services to children and families navigating developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in managing your work schedule while maintaining a strong connection with clients and their families. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions and facilitate group therapy sessions at our outpatient center to support children and their families.
  • Implement therapeutic techniques focused on anger management and coping strategies, helping clients develop essential social skills and mitigate high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Child Family Treatment Team and professionals across various disciplines to provide comprehensive support that may include psychiatric care, educational services, and family counseling.
  • Prepare and submit thorough documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and regular progress notes within specified time frames.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings and contribute to case discussions with evidence-based recommendations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your therapeutic work will center on a dynamic range of children aged 3-20 who are experiencing developmental disabilities and has complex emotional needs. You will also offer support to their families, enhancing their caregiving skills and addressing behavioral issues in the home environment. This role demands a high degree of empathy and understanding, as you will help families navigate both routine and crisis situations.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory to practice in the state of Illinois.
  • Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, generally between 4-7 PM. Weekend availability is advantageous for accommodating family needs.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing positive behavior support, with a strong understanding of behavior modification techniques.
  • Familiarity with working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is preferred.
  • Experience in delivering therapy in both English and Spanish or Portuguese to meet the needs of our diverse clientele.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation for home visits.
