Job description

Title: HOUSEKEEPING ASSISTANT

Department: HOUSEKEEPING

Hours: 24 hours per 2 week pay period, 7AM-1PM including every other weekend and holiday

Starting pay $16.00

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The primary purpose of your job is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with the federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the Housekeeping and Laundry Services Leader or the Nursing Home Administrator to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, comfortable, safe and sanitary manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Coordinate daily housekeeping assignments to meet resident need and in conjunction with the needs/schedules of other facility departments and agencies

2. Use personal protective equipment and follow infection control and Universal precautions policies and procedures

3. Assist with resident meal service as needed

4. Attend required in-services and educational programs

5. Report all accidents/incidents promptly per facility policy

6. Participate in organizational committees as interested/assigned

7. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language

8. Must have the ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition

9. Must possess the ability to function independently and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and with the general public

10.Assist in orienting new employees to the department, its policies and procedures
