This role combines standards-based English instruction with trauma-informed care to help students build confidence, strengthen literacy skills, and reengage with learning.

The English Teacher creates a structured, supportive classroom environment that fosters critical thinking, communication, and personal growth. Responsibilities

  • Maintain a structured, trauma-informed classroom environment that promotes positive behavior, emotional regulation, and student accountability.
  • Assess student learning through assignments, projects, and evaluations; track progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with clinical, residential, and academic teams to support individualized treatment and education plans, including participation in team meetings and parent communication.
  • Maintain accurate student records (academic performance, attendance, progress) and actively contribute to the broader school community through supervision, meetings, and professional development.
  • Special Education accommodations (IEP's)

Only minimum duties are listed.  Other functions may be required as given or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Age: 21+ years of age or older
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (typically in English, English Education, or a related field)
    • Montana teaching license (Class 1, 2, or 5) with a secondary English/Language Arts endorsement.
  • Skills: Quick decision-making skills and classroom management.
  • Experience: Min of 1 year of experience working with adolescent populations is preferred
  • Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in concordance with Montana state laws.
 Benefits
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance - Multiple plan options including PPO and HDHPs with HSA eligibility and company contributions.
  • Paid Parental Leave - Up to 6 weeks fully paid for exempt employees and 4 weeks for non-exempt.
  • Life & Disability Coverage - Company-paid life, AD&D, and long-term disability; voluntary life and optional short-term disability available.
  • 401(k) with Company Match - Retirement savings with matching contributions after eligibility period.
  • PTO & Holidays - Competitive PTO accrual plans and paid holidays throughout the year.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Free, confidential support for life's challenges.
