Firefly Children & Family Alliance is seeking an Eligibility Specialist in a contractor position at our Families Place location in Indianapolis. You will assist low-income families in maintaining childcare vouchers and assistance to allow families to work or attend training programs.
Firefly is looking for an Eligibility Specialist who speaks Spanish and/or Creole as well as English. The minimum compensation for bilingual employees starts at 19.51.
You Will:
Childcare Voucher Eligibility Determination (50%)
  • Sincerely help families applying for childcare assistance through interviews and document collection to determine eligibility
  • Precisely complete intakes for Childcare Voucher Program by obtaining required documentation and calculating relevant financial data including parent co-pay and subsidy levels
  • Diligently follow orientation procedures and facilitate to families regarding the rights, responsibilities and obligations of the program
  • Carefully analyze family needs to identify any special circumstances that require additional assistance
  • Maintain and follow wait-list procedures
Childcare Voucher Recertification Support (50%)
  • Evaluate opportunities with other site locations in an integrated support team approach to identify and connect families with the best resources
  • Accommodate family needs and assist families in selecting appropriate providers, if requested
  • Thoroughly maintain orderly and complete records on families receiving assistance; monitor the progress of parents in the job search process
  • Precisely prepare, schedule and mail recertification letters
You Have:
  • You have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience (paid, volunteer or internship) in greeting and interviewing a diverse population of customers in a service setting
  • Associates or Bachelors' degree a plus
  • Valid driver's license with valid insurance and no more than 6 points on driving record
