Job description

Job Title: PEBLO Assistant (Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer Assistant)
Location: 10th Medical Group, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado 80840
Tentative Start Date: December 1, 2025
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8- or 10-hour shifts between 0700-1700, excluding federal holidays
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience:
    • Prior administrative experience in a healthcare or military setting preferred.
    • Experience in medical case management, disability evaluation systems, or administrative support for healthcare programs is a plus.
  • License/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
    • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.

Documents Required for Submission:
  • Updated Resume (With all gaps explained)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for the Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) process within the Military Treatment Facility.
  • Obtain, assemble, and forward all required documents and records for active duty, reserve, and guard members undergoing medical evaluation.
  • Act as a liaison between service members, their commanders, medical staff, case managers, and disability evaluation stakeholders.
  • Advise service members and families on the medical board process, rights, and benefits.
  • Assist with preparation of impartial medical reviews, rebuttals, and appeals.
  • Track cases through the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES), ensuring timelines and documentation requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with the Informal and Formal Physical Evaluation Boards (IPEB/FPEB) and the Office of the Disability Counsel (ODC).
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports related to the PEB process.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD and DHA policies, safeguarding confidentiality of patient records.
  • Provide compassionate and professional customer service to service members and their families during the evaluation process.
