Compensation:

$65,000 - $85,000 yearly + commission


Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, construction managers, and architects to determine the needed resources and scope of work, including necessary materials and expected labor required
  • Manage general contractors and construction workers and give guidance as needed to ensure high-quality project performance
  • Keep key stakeholders informed of the project’s status by producing frequent progress reports
  • Work with general contractors, critical subcontractors, and external vendors to negotiate profitable contracts
  • Calculate the cost estimate of all project tasks and accurately manage the project budget
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships with external vendors and subcontractors to negotiate agreements that drive long-term success
  • Respond to property damage emergency calls when required
  • Ensure teams work to follow all health and safety standards to prevent injuries and obstacles to project completion, and quickly report any safety regulation issues
  • Calculate the budget for all project tasks and accurately manage the budget
  • Issue purchase orders for subcontractor work
  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related fields
  • 1+ years of experience as a construction project manager
  • Strong communication skills, leadership skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and time-management skills
  • Must live within 50 miles of Auburn Hills, Michigan, to be considered for this position
  • A college degree in a construction-related field is a plus
  • 1 year of experience as a construction project manager, preferably in the restoration/construction industry
  • Possess a deep understanding of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building codes, blueprints, permits, construction equipment, material resources, project management principles, and construction methods
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Xactimate and project management software
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable
  • Ability to recognize and solve problems independently
