Job description

We are seeking to hire an Engineering Manager for the Albany NY office. Ideal candidate would be either a mechanical, electrical, or energy engineer. As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible to focus on three main aspects: 1) Managerial leadership, 2) Technical leadership, and 3) Business development. Projects will be focused on innovative, clean energy, electrification/decarbonization projects. Position goals will include recruiting and growing the mechanical, electrical, and energy engineering presence in the region.
You will be incorporated into a team that has been provided energy efficiency services for over 30 years, and an Engineering and Architecture team with every necessary technical discipline inhouse. Our culture will incorporate you into a collaborative work environment where you will be supported and mentored by industry leading professionals whose goal will be to help you grow in your career. You will also find a team of talented and eager Engineers for you to lead and mentor as well.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Coordination with program and department managers, design and project teams, and construction managers.
โ€ข Business development of clean energy projects in the geographic region.
โ€ข Recruiting and supporting growth of a mechanical, electrical, and energy engineering team.
โ€ข Mentoring of the regional clean energy engineering team.
โ€ข Preliminary systems assessment and high-level project strategy development.
โ€ข Field investigation and condition assessment of existing systems, primarily mechanical, electrical, energy systems.
โ€ข Assist in the development of project and proposal preparation.
โ€ข Development of basis of design scopes of work, schematics, and P&ID drawings.
โ€ข Development of implementation plans & schedules.
โ€ข Presentation and report writing.
โ€ข Meeting with clients to support engineering projects throughout design and construction.
Skills/Requirements:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy engineering.
โ€ข PE license is Preferred
โ€ข Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or other industry related certifications a plus, but not required.
โ€ข Expertise in multiple technical areas of Mechanical, Electrical, and Energy Engineering.
โ€ข Capable and responsible for QA/QC on assigned tasks and projects.
โ€ข Ability to lead develop of construction documents, and support bidding and construction activities during implementation.
โ€ข Experience developing MEP and energy projects.
โ€ข Excellent communication skills, written, oral and presentation.
โ€ข Ability to collaborate with internal staff and clients.
โ€ข Experience with Microsoft Office software.
โ€ข Experience with AutoCAD/Revit software is a plus.
โ€ข Experience Building modeling software is a plus.
