Ideal Candidate

NCE seeks an Engineering Manager to collaborate with our senior team in expanding our engineering and design capabilities in the Greater Sacramento area. We are looking for an experienced civil engineer with strong communication skills, a depth of technical engineering experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Knowledge and experience designing and constructing transportation infrastructure, municipal utilities, or water resources is a plus.

Responsibilities:

As Engineering Manager, your responsibilities are envisioned to fall into three primary areas:

  • Leadership – Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team, work with senior colleagues to achieve strategic and business plan goals, and recruit talented professionals.
  • Business Development– Collaboratively work with senior technical leaders and NCE’s business development team to identify and win work, manage clients, and develop proposals, scopes and fees.
  • Project Management and Technical Delivery – Manage projects, technical teams, and client expectations. Oversee the development and delivery of design processes, engineering products, and quality control engineering deliverables.

In this capacity, you will perform and work with our team of amazing engineers, designers, scientists, and planners on a variety of projects. To support you, NCE is committed to providing business development, marketing, and technical staff support as well as oversight and support from senior leadership. You will be actively involved and partner with others in the firm to pursue business development opportunities and write proposals for new projects continuing the expansion and diversification of our engineering practice.

Our objective will be to expose you to the many facets of our company, including working with NCE staff in our other offices. This may require you to travel occasionally to our offices in South Lake Tahoe, Oakland and Richmond. When requested to travel, you will be provided with advanced notice and support when making travel arrangements.

Qualifications (Must Have):

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Licensed engineer in the State of California or able to obtain registration within six months of being hired.
  • Minimum of 15 years of work experience in the engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years managing teams of technical professionals in the engineering or related field

Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • Master’s degree in engineering, or related field
  • Nevada P.E.

Salary range: $150,000 to $170,000 annually, DOE
