Industrial Engineering Technician
Reports To: Industrial Engineering Supervisor
Location: Cresco, IA
Job Summary:
Industrial engineering technicians help engineers solve problems affecting manufacturing layout or production. They prepare machinery and equipment plans, design workflows, conduct statistical production studies, and assist to analyze production costs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Designation and arrangement of assembly equipment, tooling, and auxiliary tools
  • Setting up production cells or buildings with clearances for manufacturing operations
  • Program CNC equipment and trouble shoot issues
  • Testing completed products for quality control purposes
  • Determining the best methods for supervision of production, including conducting job analyses and constructing schedules according to capacity needs
  • Providing training as required to ensure efficient performance
  • Calculating costs and profit margins for completed projects
  • Maintaining records on attendance, waste material, production yield, and equipment efficiency
  • Developing new manufacturing methods for better control over department assets including developing new products or modifying existing products
  • Working with internal departments to help design new manufacturing processes
  • Designing processes with cost saving techniques that also meet customer demands
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience with a proven record of successfully programming differing machining equipment.
  • Minimum 1-year advanced manufacturing experience and or experience with AutoCAD 2D / 3D.
  • Knowledgeable in machining principles and techniques.
  • Must be able to operate all types of manufacturing equipment
  • Understand basic principles of engineering and mathematics
  • Ability to comprehend relevant laws and regulations applicable to the industry
  • Must be able to correctly read, understand, and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Demonstrate ability to perform mathematical computations
  • Use hand and power tools effectively
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery
  • Maintain accurate records of operations performed
  • Work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • Possess strong ability to make good decisions
